Mmm, Mmm, Mmm...The SWEET taste of victory

Hopefully part 2 will go as well as part one. Let me explain.
As you may, or may not have read in my blog (the 3 of you that actually read my blog!!) and my Pops' blog, Wifey, myself and soon-to-be-born Baby J were hit back in October by a "drunk" driver. Drunk is in parenthesis because somehow, the failed sobriety test has disappeared. No one, including the state Attorney's office can get their hands on it. Interesting. Or the other possible solution is that the arresting police officer lied to us, which, after dealing with this guy wouldn't surprise me. Sorry if I seem angry, but I am!!
Now on to the good news. After being subpoenaed to testify against "drunky" and the court day having passed, we got a nice sigh of relief in the form of a letter from the State Attorney's office today. This time, the news was awesome. The State Attorney's office reached a plea deal and "drunky" plead "no contest"! Justice is served! He gets 30 days in jail, 28 days suspended license, 50 hours community service, must go to aggressive driving school, pay court costs and other fees and may have to pay restitution (I'm assuming for our medical bills).
Maybe our luck is changing?? After a bad business deal and being unemployed for a month (and no income since November), I finally get the job I want and a foot in the door to the career I've recently chosen, and now this.
This whole wreck "aftermath" is far from over, but, this is hopefully an awesome beginning to the end. Huge kudos to the State attorneys office for somehow swaying "drunky's" decision. He originally entered a plea of not guilty and even after his attorney saw pictures we took of the accident said his client wouldn't do jail time. Instead, he insisted we harassed "drunky's" family by showing up at the door following the accident, then stopping by the home to get pictures of the damaged car after wifey was released from the hospital. Since no police report was filed, they didn't have a leg to stand on.
And most of all, thanks to my pops and our "posse" who tracked "drunky" down when called upon.

Sorry...

It's been a while, I know. Life has thrown me an unexpected curve ball and I'm just know getting my head above water again. Thank goodness January is over with! Good thing for a new year, to start off fresh, right?
Baby J and the wifey are doing awesome. Baby J is 9 weeks old now and as of this past Thursday, he weighs 13 lbs and 3 oz and is 23 3/4 inches long. He's in the 90th percentile of both categories and has already graduated to 3-6 month old clothing and #2 size diapers. He's a VERY healthy boy! He's talking a lot now and interacting with us more. My dad loves the little guy to death and has successfully taught Baby J how to stick out his tongue. He sticks it out now when he plays, talks, cries, eats, and even when he's just sitting still. We are thinking he's gonna talk with a lisp! It's great watching my dad and grandparents play with the little guy. He's familiar with them now and chats up a storm when he sees them.
We'll be flying out to Salt Lake in April to show him off to wifey's family and friends. His grandma is very excited to see him. Here's a few recent pics.
